Export GPX from Wahoo ELEMNT: Step-by-Step Guide

Download your Wahoo ELEMNT ride as a GPX file in minutes. Works with all ELEMNT models. Use it for GPS video overlays, stats cards, or route analysis.

Wahoo ELEMNT cycling computers and the Wahoo Fitness app both sync your activities to the cloud. From there, you can export any ride as a GPX file and use it in Stamptivity to create a custom stats overlay for your photos.

What You'll Need

  • A Wahoo account with at least one synced activity
  • A desktop browser (the Wahoo website offers the most direct GPX export)

Method 1: Export via the Wahoo Website

This is the fastest and most reliable method.

1. Open the Wahoo Fitness Website

Go to app.wahoofitness.com and sign in with your Wahoo account.

2. Navigate to your Workouts

Click Workouts in the top navigation. A list of all your synced activities will appear, sorted by most recent.

3. Open the Activity

Click on the ride or workout you want to export to open the activity detail page.

4. Export as GPX

Look for the Export or download button — usually a downward arrow icon near the top of the activity. From the dropdown, select GPX. The file will download to your computer.

Method 2: Export via a Connected Platform

Wahoo automatically syncs activities to Strava and Garmin Connect if you have connected those accounts. If you prefer, you can export the GPX from either of those platforms instead:

Method 3: Export via the Wahoo App (iOS / Android)

The mobile app has limited export options. The easiest workaround:

  1. Open the Wahoo Fitness app on your phone
  2. Tap the activity you want to export
  3. Tap the Share or Export button
  4. If a GPX option is available, select it — otherwise, share to a connected app like Strava or Garmin, then export from there

Upload to Stamptivity

Once you have the .gpx file:

  • Stats photo → Open Stamptivity Stamp, drop in the GPX file, pick a template, add your photo, and export as JPG.
  • Video overlay → Load it in Stamptivity Overlay alongside your ride footage to add live speed, map, elevation, and heart rate gauges.

Everything runs in your browser. No account, no upload to any server.

Tips

  • Power data from a Wahoo KICKR or power meter is included in Wahoo's activity files. Stamptivity currently shows the core stats (distance, speed, elevation, heart rate, time, cadence).
  • If a ride was done indoors on a trainer, GPS coordinates may be absent and the map widget won't render — but all other stats will still display.
